Test Item List Tutorial
The Test Item List or TIL is a useful tool to prepare for a test since it includes all the key information from the entire unit of study. You should start working on your TIL as soon as you start a new unit of study, and not wait until a day before the test, for example. As a general rule of thumb, 25 items is usually the bare minimum for a smaller unit, and can go up to 50 or more on larger units such as WWI or WWII.
DIRECTIONS:
1. Each item on your list should be NUMBERED and HIGHLIGHTED, followed by its definition and significance. Do not use it in a sentence.
2.DEFINE the term, event, or person. Your definition should include key information not just a general info such as the date of the event or a persons title. See me if you are unsure of your TIL definitions.
3. SIGNIFICANCE: After your definition, explain WHY the term, event, or person is important.
NOTE: TIL's that are incomplete (include few key details and or no information on why the term, event, or person is important) will lose points.
